Evening dress

Fanny wanted to take some pictures wearing an evening dress in a place where one usually don’t wear this type of attire. Interesting idea I thought and went location scouting, until I found an abandoned factory that was perfect for the job.

Equipped with my lightweight mobile setup we sneaked into the place around noon to make the best use of any natural light available, which wasn’t much at all. I think the pics turned out nicely nevertheless. What do you think?

I really enjoy photographing live gigs when I get the chance. This weekend Fibes, Oh Fibes! and Martin Stenmarck came to visit.
EOS in hand, spot metering on and my trusty 70-200 and 50mm landed me a few OK shots. Or what do you think?

Lightroom 2 Workflow – Importing and organising photos

Lightroom 2 (LR) is an amazing application that has come to handle most things I want and need to do with my photos, organising, developing, printing, publishing and even standard retouching. The integration of the different modules in LR saves a lot of time. My basic process is as follows, which I describe in more detail below.

Wireless Flash on Location

Two small flashguns, a brolly and a small grid can work wonders for almost any photo.
I tried this setup in a park in east London, UK, this weekend and am very pleased with the results from such a small and lightweight setup. Obviously, I brought much more gear than needed. But it could have been very lightweight, easily fitting into a LowePro backpack.
